This unresolved conflict prevents her from moving on. She then meets Guillaume, a young mechanic whose mysterious and brash attitude reminds her of Frederick. Viviane’s inspiration returns and she seizes this opportunity to start anew. She soon discovers that Guillaume is also hiding a secret past. A tragedy that destroyed his family plagues him with guilt and he copes by punishing himself with self-mutilation. Viviane is troubled but fascinated. Little by little, as she photographs him, Guillaume opens his heart to her. Somehow, they find their way to healing. br / br / Julie Hivon’s Silence Lies (Tromper le silence), the novelist’s second feature film, opened with an award-winning premiere at the Montreal World Film Festival, where it was crowned with the Innovation Award along with Cinemathque qubcoise Public Award for Most Popular Canadian Feature Film.
