Description

Par un froid matin dhiver canadien, Toms laisse sa famille encore endormie pour prendre un vol vers lEspagne. Madrid, il retrouve son vieil ami Julin, atteint dun cancer incurable. Cette visite surprise a de quoi rjouir Julin, acteur un peu court dargent qui vit avec son fidle chien, Truman. Esprant convaincre Julin de poursuivre ses traitements de chimiothrapie palliative, Toms accepte nanmoins sa dcision dy renoncer. Les retrouvailles peuvent donc aller de lavant, et Julin conoit un petit programme qui les mne dun cabinet de vtrinaire un caf dAmsterdam en passant par un complexe funraire. Au fil de leurs prgrinations, Toms sera tmoin des efforts de Julin pour mettre de lordre dans sa vie et assurer un avenir Truman, ainsi qu son fils de 22 ans.

Leaving snowy Canada, where he now lives, Tomas travels to Madrid to visit Julian, a college friend whos been diagnosed with cancer. Tomas has planned in secret with Paula’s cousin Julian to convince the latter to undergo a chemotherapy treatment that will give him a few more months to live. The patient objects, saying, at what price? Resigned to the fact that hes going to die, Julian agrees to leave Madrid for four days with Tomas as an opportunity to celebrate life. Their trip takes them to Amsterdam, where Julians son is studying. But what concerns Julian the most is what will happen to his old dog, Truman, so Tomas agrees to help find him a new home.
